It is with pride and pleasure that I welcome you to the Sri Lanka Technological Campus (SLTC)., and I hope that once you leave, you will take back memories and impressions that you will not find elsewhere.
Our campus is different. We do not only impart knowledge, but it has become an extension of who we are and what we have become. Our students are not just enrolled for classroom knowledge but to become all-rounders: in academics as well as learning life skills that make them decent human beings.
The SLTC is the only corporate-powered residential campus, located at the former SLT Satellite Earth Station at Padukka. Students live onsite and experience cohesiveness and camaraderie while enjoying the cultural and scholarly resources of a research university in a beautifully landscaped 36-acre property.
We also believe that ‘small is great’ and therefore limit our intakes to ensure unanimity amongst our students. Our academic faculty is experienced and highly regarded. They have over decades of experience in their related fields and engage our students through exciting and modern teaching methods: Outcome Based Education and Problem Based Education. We also offer our students extra curricular activities that go beyond classroom study.
Our research and academically affiliated colleges are world class: Lancaster University, ranked as one of UK’s Top 10, Deakin University, Australia’s fastest growing research university, Trinity College Dublin, the highest ranked university to engage with a Sri Lankan institute, Texas Tech University, USA’s premier research university, and Georgia Institute of Technology, ranked 19 in the world for Engineering.
The Sri Lanka Technological Campus (SLTC) is proud to announce it has been awarded ISO:9001:2008 certification for Quality Management System.
On behalf of my team, our students and faculty, I welcome each and every one of you to visit us via our website or at our Padukka Campus to experience the difference. Your children are our responsibility. We give them the opportunity to become Sri Lanka’s future generation of leaders.
VICE PRESIDENT OF ACADEMIC AFFAIRS
I want to take this opportunity to reiterate that we have no higher priority than the academic success, safety, and the well-being of all our students regardless of race, ethnicity, nationality or any other identity. On this point, we will not compromise. Our university goals are clear: we focus on a quality education using the modern teaching methods founded on the Outcome Based Education or OBE principles.
Our university must be a place where we draw strength through our differences, and where all feel welcomed, respected and included. As a community, we must vigorously encourage the open exchange of ideas and perspectives. These are our core values. We all must embrace them. Diversity strengthens our sense of community, and is vital to our knowledge creation, problem solving and productivity — all of which are essential to our mission and vision as a world-class university.
Our work is not easy, but it is vitally important to the future of our university. We have some very important efforts underway to make us the first choice for engineering education among the Sri Lankan youth and they already are producing meaningful results.
I am inspired by the energy and focus of our community – both students and staff as we work to do better and be better.
